Ever heard of a love story cooked by God? 

It all began in 2015. Ochudo had just finished ministering to the Church when Precious’ mum walked up to him. She expressed her joy and excitement to find a student who was serving the Lord with fervency and intimacy.

Mum told him about Precious and asked that he mentor her. At the time, Precious had just gained admission to the university; a young first-year student of Linguistics department, Unizik. On the other hand, Ochudo was a third-year student of Cooperative Economics and Management. 

For four months, Ochudo didn’t place a call per mum’s request, nor did she stop reminding him to do so. In her words “I’m handing my daughter over to you oo.” Ochudo eventually called and established friendly contact with Precious. The first time on call, she said “Don’t mind my mum, she’s always like that.”

The friendship continued with scanty hellos and brief call sessions. He invited her for a youth program at the church for the first time on November 1st, 2015. (It was also the first time that they met in person).

For the space of two years in the university, the couple never met each other until they both graduated in 2017 and 2018, respectively. During Precious’ service year in 2019, Ochudo maintained contact with her in his usual manner with other brethren who had gone for youth service. Often, Precious would bounce the call or be too busy to answer. (She never answers calls, anyway. Wonder what changed this girl’s heart and ways. LOL)

Since she rejects his calls and ignores his messages, Ochudo stopped calling and sending messages too. Both parties seized contact for a while until a few months after Ochudo’s birthday. He was shocked to see her birthday messages to him on Facebook and even personalized flyers in celebration of his new age. 

The burn of love and immense affection gradually started to build in Ochudo’s heart toward her. Casually, he decided to pray and consider an intimate relationship with Precious. With much conviction and confidence, he asked her out for the first time in July 2020 on a casual lunch date, when she returned from youth service. 

Funnily enough, Precious was wearing her purity ring that very day which almost *cut* Ochudo’s heart. On a closer look, he discovered it was on her right finger. The friendship continued despite his strong convictions.

As a matter of support and admiration, Ochudo bought all editions of Heels magazines owned by Precious, helped with T-shirt prints for her online conferences, and even spoke to others about her enterprise. Calmly, he was waiting for the right time to release the bullet for a successful kill, knowing her strict and firm personality.

When the grounds became soft, tender, and ripe. On Saturday, August 15, 2020, Pastor Ochudo officially proposed marriage to Precious. After careful consideration, she said yes on Sunday, August 30th, 2020. The ball was set in motion and the couple intentionally began a courtship under the eagle eyes of mentors and disciplers.

Our love is a bond of purity and intimacy. A genuine satisfaction and craving to build each other up unto perfection. We both believe that God makes everything beautiful in His own time. Now, is the time to tie the knot and we couldn’t be happier.
