She flagged down the first taxi she saw.

The car was neat, almost the neatest commercial vehicle she had ever seen; blue and white strip.

 Her favorite color

The glasses were tinted, she wondered if the driver actually saw her.

The windows went down, the back seat door opened.

“Where you dey go ma? He asked staring at her through his driver’s mirror”

“Just take me anywhere”

“With all pleasure” he grinned

He had always longed for such days when he would meet regular customers like this; the only thing that concerned him was reading his bill meter. Most times, it was actually a free drive.

These kinds of customers were usually his best; they have no destination and always seemed to be running from something.

She sobbed quietly, peering stealthily through her glass window, it rained outside but the speed of the driver made her feel more better though yet afraid; she didn’t know her next destination.

The taxi driver drove from streets into avenues, changing intersections and driving across lonely paths into the wild dark.

It got darker and lonelier as he drove

“Where are……?”

Her phone rang

The taxi driver smiled

“You shouldn’t answer that call,” he grinned

“We still have a long adventure ahead of us; he could want to take you back”

“I guess so” she replied

“How do you know that, Mr?”

“That’s my duty, I drive you to my own destination, and I know your troubles”

Her phone rang again, this time a bit more loudly

“Don’t bother picking up, he would only judge and condemn you more”

“I know right?”

“Yeah, you have to let him go; he would do you no good”

“You seem to know so much about me already”

“I could write a book on you dear, your past, present and perhaps your future too”

“You bet I do know more than you could ever imagine”

The rain had stopped, she saw more clearly.

Her phone rang again

“We need to talk” it was a deep voice, quiet and gentle.

“I don’t want to have any talks with you; you have to let me go

“But I love you, I have always done, I still do” he didn’t rush his words, one could sense the sincerity in his voice. It was almost like he had been crying

“I don’t deserve your love, take all the gifts you ever gave me and leave my life, just leave me alone” she screamed

“It’s not too late it’s never late honey, we would work things out”

“There is nothing to work out, I am forgotten

“What about the children? The generation in your womb”

“How about the visions we both shared together”

“Sweetheart, I love you. I really do”

“Don’t think of anything else but my sacrifice, think of the pains I endured for your sake, the rejection I faced, the slaps, the kicks”

“Think of the thorn and the nails. Remember I redeemed your life in exchange for mine”

“You still carry a part of me, my seed lives in you”

“Come back dear. We need to talk”

The driver swerved to the side, he went down the hill

He turned and smiled at her, that grin again

“What are …….?”

It was a dead end.

You know those moments when we sin against lord and then we are quick to grab the car keys and drive out of the relationship. That is exactly what transpired here.

I used to be that person, till some months ago I was still that person who never believed she deserves God’s mercy and grace and forgiveness.

We always seem to want to believe that God doesn’t love us anymore just because we committed fornication, or lied, or back bitted, or stole.

Who told you that you are undeserving of grace?

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”  Romans 3:23

“as many as received him, he gave them power to be made the sons of God, to them that believe in his name”

John 1:12

Let’s not forget one more truth

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9

“Well; realistically speaking, we all are undeserving of nothing but then the lion and the lamb says come

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need

Heb 4:15-16

In our daily lives when we take risks, we do so with confidence, starting a new business is risky and requires confidence, attending that job interview requires confidence; you always go with this mindset,: well,  either they hire me or they lose: I am a hot catch after all.

Even embarking on this blogging journey is risky and took me years to gather enough confidence.

We risk it all in confidence.

I once heard someone say that love is all about taking a risk, loving someone and willing to be loved is a risk taking adventure, you open up to your heart to accept and accommodate knowing the person may hurt you sometimes, knowing you must forgive. Isn’t that risky enough?

In Christ we don’t take any risks but to shut the up devil and confidently approach the throne and obtain mercy.

Christ has taken and more than willing to take more risks knowing that we may disappoint him or forsake him. We always do and yet he says:

“For He hath said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”

Heb 13:5

What manner of love is this?

Nne, There is an open invitation from the lamb at the castle. No, we don’t need any fairy godmother or a magic wand; we need one thing “confidence”

Dress up girl, we got a party to attend tonight.

You don’t have to feel like you deserve anything; you just need one more thing

For each time we sin, as we run away from God, we would always bump into someone, THE ACCUSER

I know we would definitely meet him on our way too, so; we need to pick the last vital weapon “the word”

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour”

1 peter 5:8

Dear woman on the front line,

Am soooo excited for us.

Can you feel me dancing? I know you feel my movesss, am on fire girl. Am shaking it and moving it.

Can you hear it? The music, It’s the heavenly beat

Quit the pity party, put on your full armor and get back into formation

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes”

Eph 6:11

We have a battle to win
